
Cumbria’s three clubs in the North West Counties League will start the new season with away fixtures.
But for recently relegated Kendal Town there will be great anticipation for their opening game at Parkside Road.
Premier Division title favourites AFC Bury, who were promoted as champions, will travel to Kendal on Tuesday, August 9.
Kendal will be preparing for a bumper attendance against the well-supported visitors, although a Saturday game would probably have guaranteed more travelling fans.
The Mintcakes start with away games at Vauxhall Motors (July 30) and Barnoldswick Town (Tuesday, August 2).
The North West Counties League’s 41st season kicks off on July 30, and fixtures have been released for the first month.
No fixtures have been put in for August 6 yet as the FA have not announced which clubs will be participating in the Emirates FA Cup.
The 27th August is also free as this is the First Qualifying Round of the Buildbase FA Vase.
The remaining fixtures will likely be announced around the middle of July. This is because the NWCL has to wait for the Northern Premier League to release theirs due to the groundshare implications with some of the clubs.
Kendal will be at home again on August 13 with Wythenshawe Town as visitors before they travel to Irlam on August 16 and Burscough on August 23.
Cleator Moor Celtic will travel to Keighley for their opener in First Division North against Steeton.
They have their first home game on the Tuesday, August 2 when newly promoted Euxton Villa will travel to West Cumbria.
Celtic had to travel for the vast majority of their mid-week games last season and on Tuesday, August 9 they are on the road to Nelson.
The rest of the early games are: August 13, Daisy Hill (H); August 20, South Liverpool (H), August 29, Atherton LR (A).
Holker Old Boys were close to promotion last season but were beaten in the play-off final 2-1 at home by Golcar Utd.
Like Kendal in the Premier Division they have to play two games away from home against Chadderton (July 30) and Daisy Hill (Aug 1) before they play twice at Rakesmoor Lane.
They entertain AFC Blackpool on August 9 and then Garstang are the visitors on August 13.
A week later the Old Boys are on the road again to Ilkley Town but finish the month on August 29 at home to FC St Helens.
