
Firefighters spent almost two-and-a-half hours tackling a large blaze on Walney.
Crews were called at around 1.45pm on Friday, July 8 to Avon Street.
A spokesman said: “On arrival fire crews discovered a fire involving a large quantity of refuse, foliage and gardener’s waste with two propane cylinders also affected by fire.
“Crews used one main jet and one thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire and cool the cylinders. Fire crews were in attendance for approximately two hours and 25 minutes.”
