Barrow boss Pete Wild has been impressed with the intensity of his side during their last two friendly games – particularly in the latest 4-1 win at Redditch.
He said: “Our intensity levels have gone up over these two games and I have been really pleased that the players have all got at least 60 minutes on the pitch over the two games.
“I am trying to have a squad with two players for each position and we are just about there. There might be a couple of lads moving on over the next few days, so that might free up a little money to bring someone else in.
“It’s been pleasing to score 12 goals over the last two games, but especially encouraging is the fact that they are coming from all over the park. It’s nice if you have someone scoring regularly but you don’t want to have to rely on the same player week in and week out.
“I’m told that scoring goals was a bit of an achilles heel for us last season so if we can put that right it’s going to be so important.”
Wild also unveiled Harrison Neal, a 21-year-old midfielder from Sheffield United on loan at Barrow for the season.
He said: “It’s great that a club like Sheff Uts are prepared to trust us with one of their promising young players who is spoken of highly by all the team managers at his club.
“I remember him last year for Southend where he was on loan, playing against us at Halifax, and I’m looking forward to him playing in a Barrow shirt.”
