Nathan Waterston, the most prolific batsman in the county, returns to the Cumbria side for Sunday’s NCCA Trophy quarter final against Cambridgeshire.
The Furness opener has scored over 800 runs in the Cumbria League and already has three centuries to his name, the third last Saturday.
He hasn’t been available for the last two Cumbria Championship games because of work commitments but can play in Sunday’s one day 50-overs clash at Exning Park, Newmarket.
Cumbria have just lost a three-day Championship game with Cambridgeshire at Barrow but only five of their players will be on duty in the quarter final – skipper Michael Slack, century-maker Matthew Sempill, Brodie Glendinning, Nico Watt and in-form spinner Matthew Siddall who took 10-165 over the two innings.
To reach the quarter finals Cambridgeshire won their group with wins over Suffolk (by two wickets) and over Shropshire (by eight wickets) while their game with Norfolk was abandoned.
Like Cumbria, Cambridgeshire will be much changed from the side which won the Championship game at Barrow.
