
Velo Club Cumbria’s time trials resumed this week with Luke Johnston narrowly winning the Embleton 10-miler.
Johnston covered the undulating 10-mile course in warm conditions in a time of 21 minutes and 23 seconds at an average speed of 28.06mph.
He pipped David Gleave into second place by four seconds. Allistair Moffat was third in a time of 21:55 while the fastest female rider was Sue Toppin with a time of 28:21.
VCC’s club time trials continue on Tuesday 16th August with the Keswick 25-mile time trial. Sign on is from 6pm on the old road adjacent to the A66 at Braithwaite.
