
The A65 was closed after a serious collision between a motorbike and a car.
Police were called at 11.41am today, Friday, to the incident, which happened between Hophouse Lane and the Lupton Church turn-off.
The fire service, an air ambulance and land ambulance were also called.
At 6.45pm, the road remained closed and there was congestion around the area. Drivers were asked to plan their routes accordingly.
A police spokesman said: “The road will remain closed for the foreseeable future whilst the it is made safe and enquiries are conducted.”
