On another depleted Holmen Iggesund Cumberland ARL programme only one game was played.
It was a Premier Division game in which Distington beat Wath Brow A.
Distington had gone in front on five minutes with a try by Arron O’Donnell, converted by Kieran Worthington. It was Worthington who added a second try on 22 minutes and 10 minutes later James Motum crossed for a third. Both were converted by Worthington.
Right on half-time Wath Brow gave themselves a glimmer of hope when Luke McAllister scored an unconverted try.
Hornets certainly stayed in the contest and it took the only try of the second half from Distington’s Steve Clarke, converted by Scott George, to see them off.
George was awarded the Distington man of the match award while Luke Spivey took the nomination for the Brow.
Friday night’s scheduled Division One game had to be allocated as a 24-0 win to Kells A over Ellenborough A who were unable to raise a team.
Three Premier Division games also had to be recorded as 24-0 victories for Ellenborough, Lowca and Maryport as Aspatria, Cockermouth and Glasson have withdrawn from the League.
