Workington Reds Ladies have added another coach to their backroom team.
Colin Teasdale joins the team of coaches at the club which is made up of Rebecca Scott (assistant coach/goalkeeper coach), Helen Wagstaff (player/coach) and Sophie Birkett/Megan Yarnold (player/coaching support).
Team manager Paul Mackenzie and the new arrival have spent two years together coaching the successful Cockermouth Under 16s girls team between 2020 and 2022, winning the County Cup and League Cup over that time.
Mackenzie said: “Working again with Colin will be a real pleasure for me, on a personal level as we have developed a great friendship through our time at Cockermouth but also because of the respect and value we have towards each other.
“Colin will be a great benefit to the players and coaching team through his friendly personality, attention to detail and his knowledge of the game.”
Teasdale said: “It’s great to be back involved with football as I’d thought my journey with football had came to an end this summer.
“The plan was to spend more time with my wife Zoey and caughter Ellise, but when I was approached by Macka and asked to join the team, I was excited by the opportunity and chance to join a club that are moving on the right direction.
“I discussed it with my family as without their support and backing I wouldn’t have been able to say yes. Joining a team of coaches with a structure to support them works well for me as the demands are shared across multiple people”.
“For me it’s clear to see what being part of the Reds Ladies means to Macka, the coaches and players, the commitment and focus they give is superb and I am thrilled that I have been given the chance to become a part of that and I can’t wait to get started.”
