The A595 was closed in both directions following a collision near Silecroft.
Police said the road at Whicham Valley, between Hallthwaites and Silecroft was closed following a one vehicle collision earlier this afternoon.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area until the road was made safe.
The road reopened at around 4.35pm.
