A 2-0 home win over Doncaster Rovers was the perfect way for Barrow manager Pete Wild to celebrate his new contract.
Earlier in the day Wild and his assistant Adam Temple agreed a new multi-year contract to extend their stay at the SO Legal Stadium.
Wild had signed a three-year contract when he joined Barrow in May and the club have stormed up Division Two to sit in an automatic promotion place.
After the strong start to the campaign, Sporting Director Iain Wood was very keen to keep Pete Wild and Adam Temple at Barrow for the long haul.
“The Club is absolutely delighted to get this deal over the line after the great start to the season,” said Wood.
“We have a long term vision for club, with Pete and Adam being a vital part of that vision.
“We thought it was important that we acted quickly to secure a longer term partnership and keep Pete and Adam here long term.”
Wild said: “This deal was driven by the football club not myself and Adam. When I spoke to my agent I thought he was winding me up but both sides are happy with it.”
He was also pleased with his team’s performance in the win over Doncaster which he felt had been his side’s best performance of the season.
Goals from Ben Whitfield and Tyrell Warren earned Barrow the points in what was a comfortable win in the end after Doncaster had played all their best stuff in the first quarter of the game.
Whitfield netted his fourth goal of the season after 37 minutes following two excellent stops by Doncaster keeper Jonny Mitchell.
The best Doncaster offered came from Tommy Rowe who was denied by home keeper Paul Farman just before the interval.
Barrow were much the better side in the second half and should have had more than the one Warren slotted home 13 minutes from the end after good work by Josh Gordon and Billy Waters.
