Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral will be held on Monday and councils and organisations are making plans for people to pay their last respects.
Live screenings of the funeral are set to be held across the county and a minute’s silence is being observed nationally and locally by several Cumbrian organisations on Sunday evening.
The plans will allow communities to come together to mourn Her Majesty and commemorate her reign, while marking the final day of the period of national mourning.
The state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will take place on Monday 19 September 11am at Westminster Abbey.
Following the funeral, the coffin will travel in procession from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch. From Wellington Arch, the coffin will travel to Windsor and once there, the State Hearse will travel to St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle via the Long Walk.
A committal service will then take place in St George’s Chapel.
We will update this story as more councils and organisations release their plans.
