
Furness might have conceded the 2022 Cumbria League title to Carlisle but they still had the Premier Division’s leading batsman.
Nathan Waterston scored over 1,000 runs in all competitions but the League averages don’t include any scored in Cup matches. He topped the averages and scored most runs from the 18 League innings he had.
He finished with 934 runs at an average of 71.85 and hit four 50s and three centuries with a best score of 151 not out at Workington.
The leading professional was Risith Upamal, in his first year at Keswick, taking over from his long-serving fellow countryman Geeth Kumara. He had an average of 61.18 from 17 innings and 673 runs, top score 118.
New champions Carlisle had three batsmen in the top 10 – professional Michael Slack (48.15), Ben Davidson (40.62) and Marc Brown (36.18).
Carlisle had the leading wicket-taker in Nico Watt (52, avge 7.58) but it was title rivals Cockermouth who had the bowler at the top of the averages – Sam Sharp (7.27) and 30 wickets.
Leading professional wicket taker was Millom’s Primosh Perara (37 wkts, avge 14.19) ahead of Workington’s Lahiru Dilshan (30, 14.77).
The Premier Division award for wicket-keepers went to Carlisle’s Tom Benn who took 20 catches and made six stumpings.
In the First Division Callum Lancaster of Hawcoat Park was the leading run maker. He scored 645, with a top score of 117 and an average of 49.62.
But topping the averages was Adam Brown of Seascale from the minimum ten completed innings which yielded 521 runs for an average of 51.10. He had the highest score of the season in the Division of 121.
Abe Brown, of champions Lindal Moor, won the wicket keeping award with 22 victims – 17 catches and five stumpings.
Ulverston missed-out on the First Division title but in Samson Storey they had the leading wicket taker with 40. Edward Waind (Lindal) topped the averages with 31 wickets at an average of 7.77.
In Division Two the leading run-maker was John Burns of Vickerstown with 472 runs at an average of 39.33. But topping the averages was Jason Spires of Whitehaven on 61.83 from 371 runs.
Ben Cavaghan of Whitehaven was the leading bowler with 32 wickets although Hadley Tunstall of Dalton took 22 to top the averages with a remarkable return of 3.68.
Leading wicket-keeper was Adam Blake of Cleator with 15 victims, made up of 10 catches and five stumpings.
