
Water bosses are investigating the future of Crummock Water after the Thirlmere pipeline goes live.
United Utilities created the 62-mile £300 million pipeline to connect Thirlmere to 80,000 homes in West Cumbria, replacing the supply from Ennerdale, Crummock, Chapelhouse Reservoir and Overwater.
Work started in 2014 and the first customers were switched over in July with all other customers expected to be connected by the end of the year.
Now the firm has announced a series of drop-in events for people to find out more about plans for Crummock, Chapelhouse Reservoir and Overwater. Ennerdale proposals are being drawn up separately.

The company said it was carrying out investigations, surveys and detailed designs to develop the most appropriate long-term plans for the sites. People are being asked for their views on plans for returning the water bodies back to nature.
United Utilities will be hosting three drop-in events on:
Tuesday October 11between 1pm and 7pm at The Wave Centre, Irish Street, Maryport
Wednesday October 12 between 1pm and 6pm at the Carnegie Theatre & Arts Centre, Finkle Street, Workington
Thursday October 13 between 1pm to 7pm at The Kirkgate Centre, Kirkgate, Cockermouth
Subject to planning permission, work is likely to begin in 2025/26.
The firm said Ennerdale plans will be shared when available.
