West Cumbria’s Dan Bewley has chance to earn another title

West Cumbrian star Dan Bewley has the chance to earn another title and more silverware to complete a memorable season.

The 23-year-old Maryport racer has been booked by Edinburgh Monarchs for the Farewell to Armadale meeting on Saturday, October 16.

It’s a significant booking, too, as this year’s British champion who won two GPs and finished sixth overall in his debut campaign, made his senior debut with the Monarchs in 2016.

The former Workington and Belle Vue rider has been competing in Sweden and Poland this year so his appearances in Britain have been limited.

A remarkable 2022 season also saw him secure the Czech Golden Helmet in Pardubice recently, and he will now look to win the Jack Young Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the winner of the Scottish Open Championship – with that event forming the bulk of what is set to be the final meeting at Armadale Stadium.

West Cumbrian fans, who have followed Bewley on his Grand Prix adventure, will be travelling to Edinburgh to see if he can end the season with another title.

Only a substitute in this year’s Grand Prix series after two Russians were barred, Bewley booked his automatic place in 2023 by finishing sixth this time.
