The impact was instantaneous. It only took 25 seconds of the second period for Windscale to reduce the arrears.
Lewis Jolly latched onto a cross into the box to fire the ball into the bottom corner beyond South Moors Ethan Bridge. It was Jolly again with his second who brought the score to 3-2, giving the Atoms hopes of salvaging at least a point.
South Moor were having difficulty dealing with crosses from wide. It was Lewis White who brought the scores level from a similar move.
South Moor cleared their heads and it was substitute Callum Lishman who restored their lead. Following mayhem in the Windscale penalty box, a clearance from keeper Andrew Richardson struck Lishman, the ball ending up in the back of the Atoms net for 4-3 to the home side.
The goal fest continued, with Jolly completing his hat trick to bring back parity to the score line yet again. Then with three minutes left, it was Matt Metcalf who secured all three points for the visitors, converting yet another cross from the wing for a 5-4 victory.
The Atoms’ next fixture is on Wednesday when they entertain Darlington Town with a 7.45 kick-off. Town are currently unbeaten in the League with 11 wins and 2 draws.
