Kendal Town scored a third successive win last night when they beat Keswick 6-0 in their delayed Westmorland Cup tie.
Keswick fought hard to stay in the contest but they weren’t helped by conceding two own goals.
The opener, in fact, on nine minutes was the first own goal as Ewan Clark in trying to clear a dangerous free kick from Ryan Winder headed past his own keeper, John Phillips.
Declan Robinson had the best opportunity for Keswick but home keeper Danny Roccia did well to force him wide and Chris Wraigthe cleared.
Keswick remained competitive through to half-time when only the own goal divided the two teams.
Three minutes after the break, however, Kendal had more breathing space when Ryan Winder fired in a fine curling free-kick from 30 yards.

Aaron Hoyle had a chance to make it 3-0 when he got on the end of a Nathan Hankinson cross but fired well over.
But Kendal did get a third on 62 minutes when Steve Yawson showed great feet in the area to skip past three tackles before planting his shot past Phillips.
The fourth goal came on 70 minutes when Finlay Lynch prodded the ball home after a goalmouth scramble.
Lynch was injured in the process and replaced by Tom Kilifin who immediately brought a good save out of Phillips to keep out his header.
A second own goal came on 83 minutes when a low cross from Brandon Croskell-Robinson was turned past Phillips by one of his defenders.
Kilifin had a goal disallowed for offside but in the 90th minute he twisted and turned effectively in the Keswick box before firing home the sixth. In the second round, scheduled for the week beginning October 29 Kendal will be at home to Kirkby Stephen.
