An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital after he was involved in a collision with a vehicle in Workington in the early hours of Sunday.
Police were called to Harrington Road at around 2.30am after the incident was reported to them, but the vehicle was not at the scene.
The man was taken to hospital. Police said he was in a stable condition.
Officers are appealing for information about the vehicle.
