Workington will face a Barrow player this afternoon after he joined Glossop North End on a month’s loan deal.
Defender Pawel Zuk, 21, is a former Oldham and Everton youth player who began his professional career in Poland for Lechia Gdańsk where he featured twice before moving to their second team.
In 2020, he joined Wisła Płock before moving back to England for a brief stint at Ashton United.
Żuk returned to Poland to feature for Polish II liga side Ruch Chorzów where he made 16 appearances. The right-back also has international experience for Poland’s U15s, U17s and U18s.
Zuk was with The Bluebirds since the start of pre-season, and his performances in the summer and in training earned him a one-year deal with Pete Wild’s side.
It’s been a double swoop by Glossop as they have also recruited 18-year-old central midfielder Caelan Kilheeney. He was one of four players released in the summer by Sheffield Wednesday.
Kilheeney featured regularly for the club’s U18s and U23s teams during his time at Hillsborough.
