A goal deep into stoppage time from Owen Moxon earned Carlisle United a precious point at Harrogate.
It had looked as though, after leading twice, they would slip to defeat on their bogey ground where they have never won.
But Moxon popped-up with a header inside the six-yard box in the third minute of the four added on to salvage a point.
Taylor Charters and Ryan Edmondson had twice given the Blues the lead but each time Harrogate regained parity.
It looked as if they might go on to win it when Jaheim Headley fired in a fine left foot shot on 76 minutes.
But Paul Simpson’s side kept battling away and Moxon’s effort meant they gained a point to retain their place in the play-off berths.
It was an even better point after it was confirmed that promotion rivals Leyton Orient, Mansfield and Salford had all lost.
Carlisle had taken the lead on 12 minutes as Edmondson and Kristian Dennis worked an opening for Charters who produced an exquisite strike from 25 yards that flew home into the top corner. It was a great way to notch a first League goal.
Harrogate levelled on 28 minutes when Muldoon’s through ball wasn’t dealt with by the Carlisle defence. The hesitancy was capitalised on by Luke Armstrong who lifted the ball over Tomas Holy and it just had enough legs to make it over the line.
Harrogate struck the woodwork and generally had Carlisle on the back foot until half time.
But with a change in personnel and shape – Jordan Gibson on for Corey Whelan – United started better and scored on 50 minutes.
A crisp tackle from Fin Back released Moxon and after his first route to goal via Gibson had failed, Moxon found Jack Armer in space. His cross was perfection and Edmondson profited with a bullet header from close range.
Ten minutes later the game was back in the melting pot with a Harrogate equaliser.
Holy had done well to palm over a well struck effort from Grant but from the corner Warren Burrell powered in an unstoppable header.
Harrogate went in front on 76 minutes when Headley got through the Carlisle defence and although off balance found the bottom corner from 20 yards.
Times was almost up when Carlisle salvaged a point. A corner was cleared but Back put in a follow-up cross and Moxon was there to head in the equaliser.
