
An incident at a West Cumbrian school has prompted a message from the principal to parents and carers.
The incident, involving an individual pupil, happened at West Lakes Academy in Egremont this morning.
Abby Deeks, the academy principal, said on the academy’s website: “You may be aware there has been an incident involving an individual student at the academy this morning.
“The parents of the student involved have been informed. The rest of the student body are currently in lessons. We will keep parents and carers informed through our normal channels. I will provide you with an update at the end of the academy day.”

The academy has now postponed its scheduled sixth form open evening and all extra curriculum activities and after school clubs tonight are cancelled.
