Plans are in the pipeline to create a new parish council for a West Cumbrian village.
Following a petition, an official review is being carried out into the possibility of creating Flimby Parish Council.
The village is currently part of Maryport Town Council.
People are encouraged to have their say and the first consultation runs until December 24. Draft recommendations will then be published for further consultation.
Allerdale council will then make final recommendations to the new shadow Cumberland Council, which will make the final decision.
If Cumberland Council decides to go ahead, elections for the new parish council will be held in May 2024.
The online consultation can be completed by visiting https://www.allerdale.gov.uk/en/elections/community-governance-reviews/maryport-town-council-flimby-review/
People can also share their views via email. Emails should be sent to cgr@allerdale.gov.uk.
Paper copies of the survey are also available to collect from Flimby Sports and Social Club and Maryport Town Hall.
