A 61-year-old man is hospital in a critical condition after he was involved in a collision with a car in Barrow.

Emergency services were called to North Road yesterday, November 14, after the incident near Brewer’s Fayre at about 4.30pm.

It involved the man, who was walking, and a Ford Ka.

The pedestrian, from the Barrow area, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He remains in hospital this morning in a critical condition.

The driver of the Ford Ka remained at the scene following the incident and was spoken to by police investigating the collision. No arrests have been made at this time.

The collision remains under investigation and police said they were keen to hear from any witnesses. They are also keen to hear from anyone with dashcam who suspects they may have recorded anything which could assist officers with their investigation.

Anyone with information is urged to report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/reportit quoting incident number 156 of 14 November 2022 or call 101.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
