A new bakery counter has launched at a Kendal supermarket – featuring award-winning bread from local bakers Lovingly Artisan.

Expert bakers Aidan Monks and Catherine Connor of Lovingly Artisan, have teamed up with Booths and 13 of their lines from white and brown sourdough to ancient grains and ryes will be available seven days a week.

Lovingly Artisan was founded 12 years ago with the desire to create real sourdough using the very best grains.

The bakery masters have been recognised repeatedly for their skill and passion in the bread world. Lovingly Artisan was awarded The Best Bread in Britain title at the Great British Food Awards this October for its Danish Rugbrød.

Booths buyer Keith Parkinson said: “I am delighted to be able to forge a relationship with the team at Lovingly Artisan, and offer their extraordinary breads to the customers of Booths Kendal.

“The passion of the team comes through in every loaf that leaves the bakery and I believe we are bringing something exceptional to our customers. Placing bread at the centre of the table as an integral part of the meal is a mission that I am pleased to help Lovingly Artisan with”.

Aidan and Catherine will hold a Meet the Baker event in Kendal’s Booths in February.
