Cumbria Combine awards handed out

The Cumbria Combine awards for the 2022 season were handed out at Workington in the Union Jack Club.

Combine chairman Lawrie Silverwood of Carlisle  made the presentations to successful fanciers from several different areas of the county.  

Peter Kirkwood of Carlisle won both Stratford and Holmsley OB races while Ross Mitchell of Penrith took 1^st Salisbury OB race.

There was also a double success for the Workington partnership of Richard Martindale and George Lawman, as they won 1^st Marlborough OB and 1^st Cheltenham YB

J Walker Askam won Guernsey No1 which was the Jubilee Race while Berwick, Watson, Harker and Thompson, of Aspatria, took 1st Guernsey No2 and John Wilson and Neil Buchanan, Egremont were 1st Guernsey No3.

There were special presentations for the Jubilee race winners:

A Graham & Co 1^st West Cumbria Federation – £50 + Region Salver

Berwick, Watson, Harker & Thompson 1^st Derwent Valley Federation – £50 + Region Salver

Ian Graham,1^st  East Cumbria Federation – £50 + Region Salver.
