A plea has gone out to parents to educate their children after youngsters were again spotted playing on an iced over Cumbrian pond.
Carlisle police, earlier this week, said up to 30 children were seen playing on Hammonds Pond and said they were still receiving reports of children on the ice.
In a Facebook post, they said: “Yesterday afternoon, Carlisle East Fire Station and PCSOs were at Hammonds Pond to ensure everyone is staying off the ice and still two children thought it was a good idea to play on the ice.
“We’ve been into the schools in the area but we can only do so much. Please educate your children.”
Four boys, aged six, eight, 10 and 11 had to be rescued after falling into an icy lake in the Midlands on Sunday and died.
