A well-known speedway name to Workington Comets fans has become the revived club’s fourth signing.
At just 16 years of age Ace Pijper is the eldest son of the vastly experienced Dutch rider Theo Pijper.
Ace will be embarking on his second season of National League racing after a highly successful debut campaign with the Berwick Bullets.
An ever-present in the Shielfield Park based team last year, his home average was almost seven points per meeting around the big banked track, only finishing out of a point scoring position twice in 28 outings.
It was not only on his home track that scoring was very impressive for such a newcomer to the sport, however, as his away from was equally as good with only Kyle Bickley heading him in the score chart.
A fine performance in the British Under 21 Final at Birmingham in August, shown by the BSN streaming network, showed a wide audience his undoubted potential and made him a much sought-after rider.

That was not only for the National League but also in the Championship, where he has recently completed a deal to ride for the Glasgow Tigers in 2023.
With a starting average of 6.90 he will be holding down an important position in the mid-order of the new Comets starting line-up.
