Workington Comets promoter Andrew Bain believes that the team’s latest addition Ace Pijper is tailor-made for the new extended track at Northside.
Sixteen-year-old Pijper has joined the Comets for their relaunch in the National Development League while also signing for Glasgow Tigers in the Championship.
Bain said: “Ace has done plenty of laps around Northside as a young child, but this track is a little different!
“I am really pleased we could sign him as he was excellent around Berwick last season, so our new track should be perfect for him.”
The Comets have now signed four members of their new team and plan to announce a fifth recruit in mid-week.
“So far so good and I’m sure the fans are going to be happy with the team we eventually put together,” added Bain.
