Barrow players and staff members have paid a visit to a local nursing home with gifts for the residents.
Tyrell Warren, Jordan Stevens and Adam Temple went to Risedale’s St George’s Nursing Home.
The presents will go to individuals in the home that don’t have anybody to get them a gift, or visit them, this Christmas.
Bluebirds’ assistant boss, Temple, paid tribute to the staff that the group met at the nursing home. He said: “The staff all do a brilliant job at Risedale, it was great to meet them and have a chat about the work they do.
“Unfortunately we couldn’t meet the residents, but I hope they enjoy the gifts we brought and I hope it gives them a bit of joy this Christmas.”
Temple also emphasised how important linking up with the community is for the football club. He said: “I think it’s really important, we want to be a club that’s driven and part of the community.
“Our manager Pete [Wild] said from the off that he wants to get into the community, and this is another example of that.”
The visit was also another instalment in Barrow’s Week of Giving, where the club aims to give something back to fans and the community.
