A road in a West Cumbrian village has been closed to traffic after a sewer collapsed.
Sea Mill Lane in St Bees is closed so engineers from United Utilities can repair the sewer.
Cumbria County Council said there was a likelihood of danger to the public. Work started on December 19 and is estimated to take around five days.
The road is closed from Sea Mill Lane’s junction with Main Street south for about 640 metres.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained but there is no suitable alternative route for vehicles.
