Workington Town will miss out on their first scheduled home fixture of the new 2023 season.
West Wales Raiders were due to visit Derwent Park on Sunday, March 5 but the Welsh club have announced their resignation from League Two.
The Raiders have been the whipping boys for some time now and have had several massive defeats, and their demise does not come as a complete surprise.
It leaves Betfred League One as a 10-team competition and Town said on their Twitter account: “The news of the withdrawal is obviously sad to hear. Our thoughts are with the board, players and fans of the West Wales club.
“The Town board will now digest any implications and discuss over the Christmas break. We will then communicate with our fans in the new year.”
Town start the League One season at London Skolars on February 18 and will now kick-off their home League programme against Dewsbury on March 19.
