Cumberland Amateur Rugby League will be holding its annual general meeting at the Maryport club on Monday, January 23.
It’s likely to be a key meeting ahead of the new season with several factors to take into consideration.
Two of the league’s stalwarts – chairman Roger Blair and registration secretary Kenny Millican – are standing down after many years of loyal service.
One of the league’s top sides Ellenborough Rangers successfully applied to join the National Conference and will be leaving, although will still operate an A team.
Seaton Rangers moved up the previous year and Hensingham before that.
One of the major concerns last season was the fact that so many games were postponed and remained unplayed.
The AGM will look at the League format for the 2023 season – two divisions again – or a programme that sees a top and bottom half split after everybody has played each other once.
There’s also a suggestion being considered for a cup competition in February before the league programme starts in March.
