A gala music evening will be held at Muncaster Castle in unique collaboration with a West Cumbrian arts venue.
The castle is working with The Gather Ennerdale for the January 28 event, which will feature Snake Davis and Gareth Mouton.
Peter Maher, founder of the Great Artists Small Venue music project at The Gather, said: “To mark this occasion, Muncaster will display all of its splendour by hosting a Gala Dinner followed by high quality music in the majesty of the Great Hall.”
The guest of honour at the gala event will be ex-Workington MP Sue Hayman now elevated to the House of Lords as Baroness Hayman of Ullock.
Sue Hayman and Snake Davis, having been such great supporters of music Upstairs@TheGather are patrons of the music programme.
Baroness Hayman of Ullock said: “Last July I jumped at the chance to be a patron of this great project and would like to enlist the help of everyone to support this wonderful social enterprise music venture.
“It is bringing great artists and performers to a small rural community in West Cumbria and has attracted a wide local, national and international audience for its live, and live streamed, performances.”
There are still a few seats left for the gala meal.
Once they sell out, those interested can still attend the live performance by buying a music-only ticket from the website and come along to Muncaster at 8.15pm for curtain up at 8.30pm.
