A hiker was airlifted to hospital after suffering an asthma attack on a Lake District walk.
The man, who was walking with a group, was descending Scafell Pike when he suffered the attack.
Despite taking his normal medication, the attack did not subside as usual and he could not continue. His friends called for help.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue was called at around 4.55pm and an advance party set out, with other members following.

Coastguard helicopter Rescue 936 from Caernarfon was also requested and responded.
Once on the scene, team medics provided shelter and gave additional medication and treatment.

It was enough to improve the walker’s condition to enable a winch into the helicopter. He was then flown to the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven for further treatment.
The team returned to base to restock the vehicles.

The team said: “We wish the walker a swift recovery and hope to see him back on the fells soon. Many thanks also to the crew of Rescue 936, with some skilful flying in difficult conditions.”
The team was out for six hours and 16 members were involved.
