Workington have agreed a deal to bring in a loan player but will have to wait to welcome him to the squad.
Manager Danny Grainger has confirmed that the clubs have agreed the finer points of the arrangement.
“At the moment the player has a little niggle but we hope it won’t be long before he’s able to join us.
“I just think we needed new blood in the squad to freshen us up for a big end to the season.
“We weren’t able to land the player I had been chasing for a permanent move but I have agreed the deal over this loan arrangement,” said Grainger.
It comes ahead of a potentially defining month when Reds have matches against three of the top five – Leek (away), Runcorn Linnets (away) and Macclesfield (home).
Mid-table Newcastle Town are visitors tomorrow and Reds have already got a 1-0 verdict over them in the Midlands.
“I think that was our best defensive performance of the season. We really had to work hard because they caused a few problems.
“I didn’t think we played enough football on that occasions so I want us to express ourselves more on the ball tomorrow.
“They are a good side, however, and I’ve been impressed by them. They certainly won’t make it easy for us.
“We are on a good run and in good heart after a great win at Mossley on Tuesday. The only absentees are going to be Ceiran Casson and Ben Hughes but both are making good progress.
“Ceiran should be involved inside a fortnight and although Ben will be longer he is starting to twist and turn which is a good sign after what has kept him out so far this season.”
