Workington Comets were one of – if not the first – to complete their line-up for the 2023 return to action in the National Development League.
Promoter Andrew Bain had his line-up signed and sealed by Christmas and gradually the Comets’ rivals have been catching up.
Berwick have completed their NDL side with the addition of Connor Coles and Jamie Halder.
Coles, who won the NDL with Leicester last season and significantly raised his average, will be on double duty at Shielfield Park as he also has a team place in the Championship with the Bandits.
Halder, meanwhile, joins the Bullets after spending last year with Kent, and they round off a much-changed team with skipper Greg Blair and Mason Watson the only riders retained from 2022.
Team boss Gary Flint said: “Jamie is another talented young man from the North East whose progress has been restricted by injury in his early years.
“He showed he was willing to put in the miles to get a team spot by joining Kent last season and he had a solid year at Iwade and certainly caught our eye, and we were keen to offer the opportunity to further his career with Berwick.”
Oxford have completed their NDL line-up for the new season with the signing of Jacob Fellows.
The 21-year-old from Leicester is no stranger to the Chargers having made two guest appearances for the club last year.
Fellows said: “I’m really pleased to sign for Oxford Chargers and jumped at the opportunity when it was presented to me.
“Oxford’s new track has a really nice shape to it and I really enjoyed guesting for the team last year.
“We’ve got a good team together and hopefully we can have a positive season and look to challenge for some silverware.”
