Workington Reds have rearranged their Fred Conway County Cup quarter final with Carlisle United for March 7.
The original tie was postponed a fortnight ago because of a frozen pitch and because of both clubs commitments in February will now be the last of the quarter finals to be played instead of the first.
The Tuesday night game will allow Carlisle manager Paul Simpson to use players from the first team in need of minutes or coming back from injury.
Both clubs are chasing promotion from their respective Divisions and Reds have a particularly crucial February with matches against three of the top five.
They have already won at fifth-placed Mossley last Tuesday and this Saturday travel to second in the table Leek Town who are three points better off than the Cumbrians.
Then on February 18 they travel to fourth-placed Runcorn Linnets while hosting leaders Macclesfield on February 25.
Workington go into the Leek game in good form after a splendid performance in Saturday’s 3-0 home win over Newcastle Town.
“I couldn’t fault anyone because it was a proper team performance. There were a number of top displays from the players which is always a good sign.
“I thought our midfield three of Conor Tinnion, Bobby Carroll and Brad Hubbold were outstanding in the first half,” said manager Danny Grainger.
The match sponsor Graham’s, the plumbers’ merchant, had a tough task in choosing a man of the match which went to the club captain Conor Tinnion.
In the picture their representative Nick Hensby is seen presenting Conor with his award.
