A trio of Indian players are reported to be heading to south Cumbria to take up professional contracts in the Cumbria League.
Furness, Haverigg and Millom have brought in three talented players who all look capable of being successful recruits for the summer.
Furness have lined up 24-year-old opening bat and occasional leg break bowler Yash Dubey who plays for Madhya Pradesh, the current Ranji Trophy champions.
Yesterday he scored 58 to help Pradesh turn the tables on Andhra in a Trophy quarter final game in which the holders had looked second favourites.
In his career he has scored 1,912 first class runs with a top score of 289and an average of 41.56, while in List A games he has made 905 runs with a highest score of 195no and an average of 53.23.
The Haverigg recruit is Mohammad Saif, 26, who has experience of English conditions having played for two clubs in the Northants Senior League.
In India he plays for the Railways club and a left-handed batsman he played four Youth ODIs and one Youth Test for India Under-19s team in 2013. Saif was named the best under-16 cricketer at the BCCI Awards in 2012.

In first class cricket he has amassed 2,321 runs with a highest score of 233 not out, average 48.35 while in A List matches he has scored 566 runs, highest score 92 and an average of 37.73.
Completing the India trio bound for south Cumbria is 29-year-old right hand bat Asitya Rajesh Shrivastava who is joining Millom.
He is actually Dubey’s captain at Madhya Pradesh so clearly the Millom v Furness tussles next season are going to be especially keenly contested affairs.

In first class matches he has scored 1,974 runs with a top score of 192 and has an average of 34.03 while in A List games he has managed 517 runs, highest score 104 and an average of 47.00.
All three appear to be occasional bowlers with not many wickets in India between them.
