Barrow boss Pete Wild expressed his satisfaction at the reaction he got from his players in the 1-1 draw at Colchester.
Denied by a stoppage time equaliser Wild said: “It’s always a good away point and I thought we could have had more. For 75 minutes I thought we were the better side.
“Justice was done when Paul Farman saved their penalty because it certainly wasn’t one and I have to say I thought there was am foul when they levelled six minutes into time added on.
“But overall I’m pleased, with the reaction we got from the players after the defeat at Carlisle. To a man they grafted today for the team and the club. That should be a gimmee but has been missing in one or two games recently.”
Wild made five changes from the side hammered at Brunton Park with debuts for Rory Feeley and Ged Garner.
“I thought they were both very good and represented the quality we want to bring to the football club. Rory hasn’t done much training but we got 60-odd minutes to him and he provided the assist for our goal.
“We are all in a better frame of mind than we were in mid-week and for the 100 or so travelling fans that was more like us, and how we want to perform week in and week out,” said Wild.
