Local youngster Harvie Hill could be facing his hometown club Whitehaven at the LEL Arena on Sunday.
Hill has just joined London Broncos who provide the opposition for Haven’s first home game of the season in the Championship.
The 19-year-old, who signed a new senior Wigan contract at the end of last year, has joined the Broncos on a month’s loan.
He is joining the Broncos along with Wigan team-mate, centre Zach Eckersley, and both will make a quick return to the LEL Arena.
They were in the young Warriors side which beat Whitehaven three weeks ago in a pre-season warm-up.
Both players are eligible to play in Sunday’s Betfred Championship visit to Whitehaven plus the Broncos’ remaining fixtures in February against Halifax Panthers and Sheffield Eagles respectively.
Coach Mike Eccles said: “We’re really pleased to welcome Harvie and Zach to the Broncos. We’ve been working closely with Wigan in recent weeks and are delighted to reach an agreement.
“Harvie is a very good middle and current England Knights squad member. He’s tough and can carry the ball hard, he’s a good addition for us.
“Zach is a great prospect too and is an exciting skilful player. He’s a big unit who again can carry the ball well and is a great defender.
“We look forward to monitoring their progress through the month.”
A product of the Hensingham club, Harvie is the son of former Whitehaven and Oldham forward Howard Hill.
