As unidentified flying objects seem to be all the rage in north America, perhaps Cumbria has its own version.
Four mystery objects have been shot down over north America in the last month and while officials think the first was a surveillance balloon sent by China – although denied by the Chinese government – they are baffled about the origins and have said they will not rule anything out until they find the debris.
A member of the Cumbria Crack team – not prone to flights of fancy – was in Cockermouth on Tuesday night and spotted this. He said it didn’t appear to be moving much and didn’t think it was an aircraft as it would have coloured lights on it.
Did anyone else see it? Is there a straightforward explanation? Is it a drone? Could it be a Chinese weather balloon? We’d love to hear your thoughts…..
