Do you have lumberjill memories of Grizedale Forest?
Forestry England are collecting stories, images and items for a new exhibition set to go on show later this year celebrating the World War Two lumberjills – a group of women who played a vital role in maintaining the war supply of timber.
The organisation is asking for anyone who was involved or who has a friend or family member who was part of the movement to share what they remember and show any items they may have from this period of time.
Those who come forward may become part of its upcoming exhibition and are invited to come to one of its drop in sessions for a chat with the team.
Forestry England added it is particularly interested in scanning images to form part of the exhibition to be held at Grizedale Forest in May.
The first drop in sessions will take place this Saturday 4 March and Sunday 5 March from 10am to 4pm at the Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre in Hawkshead, Cumbria.
