A Cumbrian woman has swapped her corporate life for a career in care.
Anna Butler, of Kendal, gave up her desk job after she didn’t find enough fulfilment in her role in administration and marketing.
After discovering home care company Home Instead, she decided to take a leap and start something new by becoming a care professional.
Anna said: “Home Instead have welcomed me to their team with open arms. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, and they all want to see me succeed.”
“My role as a care professional varies every day and the clients I care for are all so grateful and kind. I look after older adults in their own homes by helping with daily tasks to ensure my clients are safe and comfortable to stay as independent as possible.
“I know I made the right decision by making a career change, I feel like I am truly helping make a positive difference to the lives of others.
“All the carers bring their wisdom and lived experience, and every day there is something new I get to learn and with our minimum one hour visits I have the time to care.
“I encourage everyone to consider a career in care, whether they have previous experience or not and you will receive the best training, with their qualified Nurse, Dinah”
General manager, Louise Yates, said: “I love Anna’s story, it reiterates that anyone who shares our values can become a Care Professional! We are proud of Anna and her dedication to her role; I can see a transformation from when she first started working for us.
“I recognise how much fulfilment she gets from helping deliver vital care to older adults in the area.”
