Penrith were denied another win by a last minute leveller from West Allotment Celtic in Northern League Division One.
The 2-2 result was a bit of a sickener for the Cumbrians as they felt there had been a foul on the goalkeeper.
Manager Darren Edmondson said: “It was a blow but I think we would have taken 2-2 beforehand. However the way we played, particularly in the first-half, was very encouraging.
“I actually think it was the best we have played all season and although we led 2-0 at half-time it could easily have been three or four.
“Credit to the opposition. They had won their previous five games and climbed to fifth in the table and they upped their performance in the second-half.
“We didn’t pass the ball as well as we had done earlier and that encouraged them to put a bit more pressure on us.
“Although disappointed to drop two points it kept us moving up the table which is what we are looking to do and should give the lads confidence and belief for Saturday’s game at Whickham.”
Luke Hunter had given Penrith a flying start with goals in the first and ninth minutes.
Callum Learmouth pulled one back on 74 minutes and Jacob Forster grabbed the controversial equaliser in the second minute of time added on.
