Kendal Town gave away a 2-0 half-time lead as they shared the spoils last night at Padiham in the NW Counties Premier Division.
The Mintcakes had been the better side in the first-half and were deservedly two goals clear at the break.
But in the proverbial game of two halves Padiham came back strongly to level up in the second period and share the points with two goals from substitutes.
Kendal made a great start, taking a sixth minute lead when Joseph Dickson thumped home a great shot from the edge of the area.
It could have been two soon afterwards but Ben Thomas just clipped the outside of the post with an effort which had the keeper well beaten.
The second goal came on 39 minutes when top scorer Tom Kilifin headed in a corner, and it was no more than they deserved after a controlled first-half display.
Padiham were much more in the contest after the break but Kendal defended well until the 74th minute when they were found wanting at the far post and substitute Joel Brownhill headed the home side back into contention.
Four minutes later they levelled as keeper James Hoskins came rushing out to block substitute Chris Bandell but he fired past him to earn his side a point.
There was one late chance for Kendal to snatch back the lead but Shaun Sailor shot straight at the keeper from a good position.
