Kendal Town are bidding to reach their second final of the season this afternoon.
The Mintcakes host Congleton in the semi-final of the North West Counties League’s Macron Cup.
They are already through to the Westmorland County Cup final where they will meet Penrith Reserves at their own Parkside Road ground on April 29.
Chairman Michael O’Neill set a target of surpassing 300 crowds for the last three home games and comfortably did that last Saturday.
“The weather looks good, we have different things going on at the ground and we are very hopeful of getting more people in this afternoon.
“We are very keen on widening the fans’ match day experience and the fact that we are hosting a Cup semi-final adds extra excitement,” he said.
The North West Counties League has announced that the final will be staged at Chorley FC’s Victory Park on Monday, May 8 with a 1pm kick-off.
It’s the Bank Holiday to mark the coronation of King Charles III.
The league said: “We are aware that a number of people were looking for some confirmation of the logistics, so following some really positive discussions, we are looking forward to returning to the superb facility in Lancashire.
“Fans will remember that we had our 2021-22 Macron Cup Final there last May where it was current holders, Charnock Richard’s day as they came out winners over Cammell Laird 1907 on a gloriously sunny and well attended day.”
Ticket information will be released when the finalists are known.
Bacup Borough host St. Helens FC in the other semi-final.
