Roles were reversed in the senior trail at Cobra Castle last night following the meeting there on Monday.
Miterdale Duchess had got up to take the win from Duchess Ava on that occasion but in the latest contest it was Duchess Ava who got the better of Miterdale Duchess.
Duchess Ava, runner-up in the 2022 senior Championship, was earning her first win of this season. Huntsman’s Quartz moved up a place from Monday night to take fourth place for Ian and Stephen Donaldson.
Ned’s Gain last year’s Puppy Championship runner-up, gained his first ticket this season in the senior hounds after winning the All In race on April 12th at Cobra Castle.
Graham Reid’s Mel continued to show good form by winning the open pups again taking him to four wins, two points clear of Embrace in the championship. James McClelland’s Glamorous Ava repeated her second place again but couldn’t get up to snatch the win from Mel.
Lucky Moon came home to win for Geoff Higgins from Red Baaeed in the Open non winner race.
Red Baaeed, owned by Ann Reay, seems to have matured from last year when it was struggling to get round but the penny seems to have dropped this year and it has taken a few tickets across the different grades. Credit to Ann for having patience.
Graham Reid’s other hound Strawberry Mick also repeated his win to take the All In race.
