Workington Reds and their top rivals are getting ready for Saturday’s final games which will determine the NPL West play-off semi-finals.
Reds lost the initiative in the race for second with Leek Town when they lost 4-3 at Northwich on Saturday.
They trail the Staffordshire side by a point as both prepare to finish off with home matches.
Reds host Colne who still desperately need points to survive the threat of relegation with Glossop North End breathing down their necks.
Glossop go to Bootle on Saturday in the second relegation place. They are a point behind Colne and a goal worse off on scoring differential.
Leek, meanwhile, entertain Skelmersdale who are sitting bang in mid-table, tenth with seemingly nothing to play for but pride.
Meanwhile who finishes fourth and fifth also has to be resolved.
Clitheroe, currently fourth, entertain Kidsgrove Athletic while Runcorn Linnets, in fifth, travel to Trafford. Clitheroe are two points better off than their rivals with a two goal pull on scoring differential.
So at the moment it’s Leek v Runcorn and Reds v Clitheroe for Tuesday’s semi-finals – but that could all change around 4.45pm on Saturday.
It won’t have gone un-noticed in the Reds camp that Clitheroe have already won at Borough Park this season.
