A luxury Lake District B&B has been acquired by a hotel group.
The Storrs Collection, which owns Storrs Hall on the shores of Windermere, has bought the Lindeth Fell Country House.
Lindeth Fell stands in seven acres of its own private gardens – designed by renowned landscape architect and author Thomas Mawson – overlooking the lake on Lyth Valley Road in Windermere.
The 14-bedroom guest house was built in 1907 and still has much of its Arts & Crafts character. It has been owned and run by the Kennedy family for almost 40 years and won a number of awards under their care.
The sale of the property was managed by the hotel agency team at commercial real estate firm Colliers. It was sold for an undisclosed sum.
Andrew Nicholson, general manager of Storrs Hall, said: “We’re proud to have added Lindeth Fell to The Storrs Collection and very much look forward to carrying forward the exceptional quality of the stewardship of the Kennedy family.
“There is a synergy between Lindeth Fell and Storrs Hall; both are very special places, each with a rich and interesting history, in a spectacular setting, providing a warm and nurturing guest experience.
“Lindeth Fell is the perfect addition to our portfolio and we can’t wait to work with the team there.
“We wish the Kennedy family a happy, well-deserved retirement.”
