‘We aim to finish season strongly’ – Barrow AFC boss

Pete Wild insists his side are out to finish the season strongly ahead of their home clash with Carlisle United this afternoon.

Although chances of a play-off spot for the Bluebirds are now virtually zero Wild’s approach to the remaining three fixtures will be the same.

“We want to finish the season strongly and in the right manner. Carlisle have had a fantastic season and we have challenged ourselves all season against the best sides in this league so tomorrow will be no different.”

Two tough away trips to Swindon and Grimsby in the last seven days yielded strong performances from the Bluebirds and though results didn’t go their way, Wild wants more of the same from his side performance-wise.

He said: “I was really pleased with both displays this week. Sometimes performance doesn’t equal outcome and that was certainly the case on Tuesday. We need to take all of the positives from the games and ensure we use that to drive us on.

“Ticket sales have been outstanding and it shows the belief the fans have in this squad. We all appreciate their support and we will do everything possible to get a result for them. It’s imperative that we finish well, because we want to finish what we have started.”
