A Carlisle man will be sentenced by a crown court judge after he admitted involvement in the supply of cocaine and cannabis which began when he was aged just 15 during the first COVID lockdown.
Nathan Lamb, now aged 18, faced two charges when he appeared in front of city magistrates this afternoon.
These were one of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and a second concerned in the supply of cannabis.
From the dock, Lamb spoke to confirm his name, date of birth and address, and to enter guilty pleas to both offences.
They occurred between May 1 2020 — shortly after the start of a first COVID lockdown — and October 9 the following year.
The court heard Lamb had been 15 at the start of that period and had just turned 17 by the end.
Prosecutor George Shelley told magistrates: “This is a case where mobile phones were seized and data downloaded and recovered. There is evidence from the phone reports that Mr Lamb was concerned in the supply of both class A and class B drugs.”
Magistrates declined jurisdiction of the case and sent it for sentence to Carlisle Crown Court. Lamb, of Highfield Avenue, Carlisle, is due to appear there on May 25 and was granted unconditional bail.
In the meantime, Lamb will be interviewed by a probation officer who will produce a pre-sentence report giving details of his background and circumstances surrounding his offending
